Marriage records [microform], 1901.

Marriage records may include bonds, books, certificates, licenses, marriage registers or ministers' returns. Indexes to marriage records may be available. Marriage licenses were issued by the county clerk upon completion of the bond and give permission for a marriage ceremony to be performed. The license was presented to the person performing the marriage, either the minister, judge, etc. Marriage certificates signify that the marriage occurred. The certificate was completed by the minister or judge and then given to the marrying couple.

Campbell County was the nineteenth county created in Kentucky. Formed in 1795 from Mason, Scott, and Harrison Counties, it was named for Colonel John Campbell, an early settler.
